Santa Phil is a Real Bearded Santa that has been portraying Santa Claus since 1999 when he was asked to fill in for a church Santa who was ill. He was immediately hooked.
"I found that the joy of Christmas in the first child's eyes as he gazed into Santa's face. That brought so much happiness to me and made Christmas even more meaningful for me."
The first few years were behind a fake beard to hide his dark beard and in an inexpensive Santa suit doing volunteer work for churches, schools, and other not-for-profit organizations. But it seems that he was "called" to the position of Santa. After a few years had passed his beard started turning gray. Within a couple of months his beard had turned completely white. Now he looked even more like Santa.
"I feel that it is my privilege to bring the joy, hope, love, and gift of Christmas to everyone... young and old alike. There is no better way to live and celebrate the wonderful gift given to us on that first Christmas. I try to keep that spirit alive year round but the holidays are when the deepest joy of Christmas begins."
In 2016 Santa Phil's High School Sweetheart and wife joined him as Mrs. Claus. Her years of working with children in the school system and a Texas Children's Hospital has proved to be a great addition to the Claus team. Lyni Claus joins him at every event whether as Mrs. Claus or a helper.
